The 'Meranaa' scheme is designed to provide medical treatment for Maldivian citizens residing in Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, and the Philippines who hold a valid visa for at least six months.
It provides annual coverage of MVR 150,000 per person, including up to MVR 10,000 for outpatient services. Cashless treatment (inpatient services) is available in India and Sri Lanka at empaneled hospitals, while in Malaysia and Philippines patients pay first and may seek reimbursement.
Maldivian citizens residing long-term in Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia or Philippines, with a valid visa of minimum 6 months. Students and dependents are also eligible. But business visa holders are not eligible.
Pre-approval is available at empaneled hospitals in India and Sri Lanka. On the other hand, after taking in-patient treatments, patients can also submit for reimbursement.
In Malaysia and Philippines, services must be paid first and then submitted for reimbursement.
